Roger Federer further exemplified that he is the greatest tennis player of all time with his convincing straight set win over Andy Murray. Federer won his 16th grand slam, adding to his all time record. Federer also shows no signs of slowing down and said himself, “I played some of my best tennis in my life these last two weeks,” a very scary thought for his competitors. Pete Sampras, who held the all time grand slam record prior to Federer won his last grand slam at the age of 31. If Federer, 28, can stay healthy, the sky truly is the limit and winning 20 grand slams seems very attainable. Federer’s next chance for a grand slam victory will come in May when he competes at the French Open. To hear Federer’s thoughts after the match, click here.

Roger Federer proved his dominance once again by reaching his 18th final in the last 19 Grand Slam events. Federer, who holds the record for most Grand Slams won all time will try to add to that number as he faces British player Andy Murray. Murray should have no problem needing motivation as he tries to avenge the straight set 2008 US Open Finals defeat and become the first British player to win a Grand Slam men’s singles event in 74 years. Although Federer’s superiority is evident throughout the game of tennis, Murray is 6-4 vs. Federer, one of a select few players to manage a winning record against the greatest tennis player of all time. This match will be played on Sunday on ESPN with the time TBA.

Prediction: Federer wins in 4 sets.
