Right in time for the playoffs. Jumpman 23 unveils the Air Jordan Fly Wade shoe. This is the start of a collection of Dwayne Wade shoes with the Jordan brand. These kicks weigh in at 13 ounces and was designed by shoe guru architect Mark Smith. Nifty fact right here is that this is the lightest basketball shoe ever created by the Jordan brand. When thinking about it, this totally makes sense because historically all J’s have been super heavy. I personally think they were modeled after the VII’s or at least resemble them a bit. New York is the venue for the Nike sponsored World Basketball Festival. Jay-Z performed at Music City Hall for day one of the weekend long festival. The final event will take place on Sunday at MSG, where there will be a double header between the USA and France followed by China versus Puerto Rico. What do you think about the cartoon players that have been used for promotion? #ILoveBasketball

The World Basketball Festival is August 12th-15th, and Nike Sportswear is helping New York celebrate the iconic Air Force 1 with a “BE” pacl. In the video above, they got Brooklyn’s newest MC Theophilus London, Harlem’s rising rapper Miss Banks, Nigel Sylvester and the Format Crew for Queens, Corey Gunz voices the Bronx, and hip hop host Emilio Sparks speaks for Staten Island to speak on their respective boroughs and document his or her memories of growing up their. The video was directed by BBGUN and he did a great job connecting all Five Boroughs of NYC together.

Just Blaze TV provides us with this coverage. Should come as no surprise to see these two shooting hoops in Eminem’s neck of the neighborhood. As previously rumored in October, JB will be laying most of the groundwork for Relapse 2. Do take notice to the white stuff that accumulates in the corners of your mouth when  you have real bad cotton mouth on Just Blaze‘s mouth at the end of the video.

Incase you did not see SportsCenter the other night, there were a ton of ridiculous events that occurred. But this one above most definitely takes the cake. Baylor’s center, Brittney Griner, is a straight animal. Standing at an outrageous 6’8 and dunking in multiple games this year, she done went ahead and clocked Texas Tech’s Jordan Barncastle square in the face. Hit the jump to see plenty more freakish plays from Lebron James, John Wall, Nate Robinson & Travis Leslie. (more…)

The Carrier Dome hosted the highly anticipated College Game Day this past weekend in Syracuse, NY. Myself and a plethora of college basketball fans made the journey to see some Big East basketball at its finest; as well as to engage in other STUPID behavior. Although the top 3 teams all lost their games (Kansas, Kentucky, & Purdue) this week, Syracuse truly proved to be the number 1 team in the country by demoralizing their opponents the number 7 ranked Villanova Wildcats. Syracuse set an on-campus attendance record of 34,616 wild fans excessively raging in the Carrier Dome. YES it is incredible that they sell beer in the Carrier Dome, YES it was amazing sitting dead front row in the student section & YES the Orangemen delivered the performance everybody had hoped and anticipated for. On a side note, shout out to DJB and Gursk for the endless hospitality and all the other Cuse homies. Brandon Reese keep doin what you do. Big ups to Comstock 208 & 209 and the people that saved me Thursday night. Hit the jump for some pictures from this epic College Game Day. (more…)
