25 East Banks Street Chicago, Illinois 60610. That is the address of where Jamie Dimon, the CEO of monster bank JP Morgan, resides when he is not busy handling business in NYC. So you ever wonder how the man spends his $17 million in stock and options? This may be a good guide to where a small portion of it goes. He bought the home in 2000 for $4.68 million and originally put it on the market several years ago for $13.5 million. It was at $10.5 million when we checked it out last year but had a price cut earlier this year to $9.5 million, according to Sotheby’s. The only property listed for more in the Gold Coast area is Bill Wrigley Jr.’s penthouse space. The eight-bedroom home was built in 1870 but has been lavishly adapted for the modern executive. The home is spread out over four stories and includes a whopping 900-square-foot rooftop terrace outfitted with ample seating in both sun and shade. There is a second floor master suite, winevault, an elegant gold and eggplant media room and gym decorated with sports memorabilia and crowned with a starry dome. Hit more for additional pictures and a full blown tour of hands down the hottest and finest piece of real estate within the Chicago area. (more…)

Homage clothing turns back the clock with shout outs to eclectic moments and personalities in sports, music, politics and popular culture. From Bruce Lee to Larry Bird, their tees tell stories of triumph, individualism and hustle, preserving the old school and creating new legacies.  Thats all good and fun, but the real reason Homage clothing is the shit is the comfort level.  You can’t underestimate comfort these days.  They sell mainly tees, but there are a few fleeces, hats, and strangely enough, Big League Chew!  Check out the online store here, or hit the jump for more photos: (more…)

In the middle of last week’s sold out Wilco show at the Overture Center in Madison, Wisconsin, lead man Jeff Tweedy joked, “Last night, the mayor of Duluth (Minnesota) made us an honorary Duluth band. And we’ve only played there twice. How many times have we played Madison? A lot. No key to the city, no certificate, nothing.”  His comments must have irked the shit out of Madison Alder Satya Rhodes-Conway, who yesterday wrote the Wilco Honorary-Citizen Proposition, citing their live “excellence” and how city newspaper The Isthmus called the band “America’s shiniest rock object.” She goes on: “Duluth, MN may be cool, but we would not want it said that either that fine city or its mayor are cooler than Madison and our mayor (even if Mayor Dave [Cieslewicz] is not sure who Jeff Tweedy is).”  What a hilarious show of beef between the border cities who have a history of bitter rivalry.  As Madisonians, we’d like to say Get Fucked Minnesota! – click more to read the resolution: (more…)

While I am fully aware Tiger Woods brought all this negative attention on himself, I am a believer in second chances and that he can truly make amends to those he hurt. I think he sounded remorseful and looked embarrassed during his 14 minute speech on Friday morning. Tiger doesn’t stand alone as the only person who has had to make a Presidential-like mea culpa apology to the nation. To see other prominent figures’ apologies including those from Bill Clinton, Kobe Bryant, Mark Sanford and Eliot Spitzer, hit more. (more…)

Posted Up: A Brief History of Billboard Controversies 01/23/2010

What better place to offend people than on a billboard? Not only are they prime exposure to get your product out there, but they also double as 42 foot murals of eyeball fuckery.  In what I consider to be a pretty mild case, the Weatherproof Garment Co. recently used an unauthorized image of Obama to sell jackets. While the offending company recently agreed to remove the advertisement, it got me thinking of other billboards that have ruffled some feathers. Hit the jump to see some other examples of when billboard ads really piss people off…

There’s nothing quite like riding the coat tails of public anger and resentment to win a seat in the US Senate. Exhibit A: Massachusetts’ Republic Senator Scott Brown winning Tuesday’s election running on the platform of being the pivotal vote to stopping Obama’s signature health care bill. Politics as usual it would seem. SMH.
