It’s been five years since the Toronto-based indie studs Broken Social Scene dropped their self-titled masterpiece, and since then there has been plenty of anticipation for a follow up.  Pitchfork conducted an interview with front man Kevin Drew who revealed that the as-of-yet untitled follow up LP will be released on May 4.  If you are unfamiliar with BSS, hit more to read a little bit about their style and check out a few tracks:

Broken Social Scene is an interesting story, because nobody really knows who the band consists of from year to year.  But what is consistent is that they flood the stage with bodies, and they retain their super relaxed, easy-listening, and summery vibe.  If you find yourself struggling to do work while listening to music with lyrics, this is a great alternative.  It’s rare that you find a group who produces albums that flow so perfectly from the first song to the last.  To spread awareness of BSS, I’ve posted a few links to download a few of my favorite tracks. Enjoy.
